This is my first time participating in Round of Words in 80 Days. I’ve been writing fiction for the last 18 months and am currently working on revising a manuscript. But here is the problem that I’ve run into. I use revising as an excuse for not writing NEW WORDS. And since I am relatively new at writing fiction, I need to write a crap bucket of new words in order to get better at this thing called fiction. And so, I am using ROW80 as a way to help me develop a new habit.
Write NEW WORDS every day, even while I am revising. In other words, do the same thing every other real writer does.
So while I work on revising my Middle Grade book THE BEEF JERKY GANG, my ROW80 GOAL is to write 750 new words every day on my other Middle Grade book called BALLYMOON. If I write 750 new words every day, then I should finish my first draft of BALLYMOON by the end of this round of ROW80.
Daniel Kenney’s ROW80 Intention: Write 750 new words of BALLYMOON every day.
Good luck to everybody else participating in this round and I can’t wait to check out what everybody else is doing. Thanks!
